Changing

answered
Sarah,
Elisabeth and Isaac with friends the ranch.

Praise the Lord!!! We arrived safely in Ohio after leaving Dallas
on September 30th.
We didn't know how we were going to get our luggage for Africa (over 10 large
pieces as well as things we
needed along the way) first
to Ohio and then to New Jersey. Just a few days before leaving
another missionary family just gave us an 8-foot long trailer that we
could tow behind our vehicle. What an answer to prayer!!!
On the second day of our trip we stopped to visit friends in the
panhandle of Texas at a cattle ranch. After traveling over several
county roads we took a five-mile dirt driveway up to the ranch. The
landscape reminded me much of South Africa where I was in June. No
ostriches or zebras though. :-) The road was pretty rough but our
van slowly pulled the trailer through the deep ruts and over several
cattle crossing guards. We hit bottom several times and would have never
made it had it been wet, but thankfully it was dry.
At the ranch our children Sarah and Elisabeth, had a great time riding
the horses and feeding the cows. Isaac especially loved holding the
kittens. I (Ken) got to be the chute man - releasing the calves as the
ranch family children practiced roping calves in preparation for a rodeo
the next day.
The rancher, Rob, noticed that the wheel of our trailer was bent
outward. We believe that the Lord guided Rob's eye to notice the wheel.
When we looked under the trailer we saw that part of the axle was
actually cracked. If this had broken
further while traveling on the highway it could have been a
very serious accident. Rob volunteered to strengthen it and we drove it
to the barn where he found a piece of metal that fit exactly over the U
shaped piece that had broken. It was incredible how God had
supplied the perfect piece of scrap metal out of Rob's limited
supply to fix our broken axle!!!!
Praise the Lord for how He provided everything that we needed including
the welding machine and other equipment to finish the repair
just when we needed it -- no matter how remote our location was.
The trailer traveled well the rest of our trip.
These provisions came through people who care, people who give and
people who pray. Thank you for praying for our safety.
Blessings,
Ken and Sue
