Dear Friends of Ken and Sue,

We are very excited that Ken and Sue have joined The Word for the World Bible Translators.  They will be our coordinators in Zambia, and also work in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In the sight of God, the person who sends is as the one who goes.  We therefore want to also welcome you as co-workers with the Sawkas and with The Word for the World. Our prayer is that you will experience the thrill of knowing that God is using you to make His Word available to those who did not have it before.

The Word for the World is an international and interdenominational organization dedicated to the translation of the Bible into languages in which it is not yet available.  Our vision is the following:

God’s Word for every person in his or her heart language, leading to the establishment and growth of Bible centered churches in every tongue, nation and tribe.

Our focus is particularly upon recruiting, training and assisting national translators to work on first time translations of the Bible.

Our organization has been working in Bible translation for over twenty years and we now have work going on in ten countries. Our USA office is in Colorado Springs Colorado, where we are a 501 (c) (3) religious non-profit organization. (This means that your contributions are tax-deductible).  The Word for the World is also a member of the International Forum of Bible Agencies. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are not receipted promptly or if have other questions regarding our work.

The two countries in Africa where Ken and Sue will be particularly active (Zambia and the Congo) represent a substantial portion of the worldwide need for Bible translation.  Approximately 2,700 languages still need Bible translation around the world, and central Africa is one area of the world where the greatest need for translation remains.

With all the training they have received, and the experience they have already gained, we know that the Sawkas are going to make a tremendous contribution.  Their dedication to the Word of God and the obvious call and blessing of God upon them, will be key factors in the challenges they will face. Please allow me to thank you in helping to see the Word of the Lord spread rapidly, and be honored (II Thessalonians 3.1) through your prayers and support for Ken, Sue, Sarah, Elisabeth and Isaac.

Dr Véroni Krüger

International Director
